Abstract
This article is a Scoping Review that investigates how microlearning has been utilized across different educational levels within formal education. The objective is to explore the concepts and understanding of authors regarding the use of this approach, aiming to answer the research question: how is microlearning applied in formal education across various levels? To achieve this, we followed the five methodological steps typical of a Scoping Review: a) Definition of the research question; b) Identification of relevant studies; c) Selection of the studies found; d) Mapping of the data; e) Synthesis, grouping, summarization, and reporting of the results. The Dimensions database was used to search for the studies. The results show that microlearning is most commonly found in university settings, where it is integrated into various models and methodologies. This approach offers content in an objective and concise manner, proving to be an effective tool for meeting students' needs and improving assessment outcomes. The review suggests that microlearning has generated positive results, encouraging further studies to explore its advantages and disadvantages.
